Sticky Please!
The Police hold stolen bikes for up to a year and then sell unclaimed ones at auction. Once sold you can't get your bike back it becomes the property of the purchaser at the auction. Go to the auction preview armed with your POLICE INCIDENT REPORT, serial number, sales receipt, photos and anything else you can think of as proof of ownership. Go to the next auctions for up to a year if you havent found your bike, they're usually twice a year. Call the Police property lockup regularly cause they are constantly receiving more goods and it takes time to catalogue and enter into the computers.
This is from a previous post.

I hope this helps someone........
Also if you got insurance money your not allowed to claim the bike unless you give back the $$$$$$$.
